Die norwegischen Symphonic Black Metaller von DIMMU BORGIR haben drei weitere Dates für ihre geplante Europa-Tour veröffentlicht.
Auf dieser Tour wird es keine Supportband geben, stattdessen werden DIMMU zwei unterschiedliche Sets auf die Bühne bringen: zunächst ein komplettes Album, das von den Fans zuvor ausgewählt werden kann und hernach ein Set mit diversen Bandklassikern.

Metal-Szene im Schock
Seit Tagen ist die Welt geschockt vom kaltblütigen Mord an über 80 norwegischen Jugendlichen. Musiker aus allen Ländern drücken ihre Trauer aus.
Freitagnachmittag, 22.07.2011, gab sich ein 32 Jahre alter Norweger als Polizist aus und erschoss auf der Insel Utøya über 80 Jugendliche, nachdem er vorher einen schweren Bombenanschlag in Oslo verübt hatte. Unzählige Musiker aus den unterschiedlichsten Ländern haben im Internet ihrer Trauer und ihrem Schock Luft gemacht:

Ein mal mehr zeigt sich die auch optisch kunstvolle Seite des Metal. Das Ballet Deviare verschmilzt im Kurzfilm „Disconsolate“ Doom Metal und Tanz.
Wenn sich Künstler aus einem ganz anderen Genre mit Metal befassen, kann das entweder richtig peinlich oder ziemlich abgefahren und interessant werden. Eindeutig in die zweite Kategorie fallen Ballet Deviare.

Ballet Deviare haben es in ihrer Karriere sogar schon ins Vorprogramm von Opeth geschafft. Gemeinsam traten sie am 23.02.2006 in der Town Hall in New York auf. Kunstinteressierte Metaller sollten den Namen also vielleicht im Kopf behalten.

Ex-NIGHTWISH-Frontfrau TARJA TURUNEN hat am vergangenen Freitag, den 22. Juli 2011, gemeinsam mit den deutschen Hardrock-Veteranen von den SCORPIONS im Rahmen des "Saimaa Open Air"-Festivals im finnischen Lappeenranta den Song "The Good Die Young" performt; Fan-gefilmte Video-Aufnahmen davon gibt es weiter unten.
SCORPIONS-Sänger Klaus Meine hatte den Track, der vom immer noch aktuellen, letzten Studio-Album der Hannoveraner, "Sting In The Tail", stammt und im März 2010 via Universal Music erschienen ist, den vielen Opfern des Bombenanschlags und des Massakers gewidmet, das am gleichen Tag in Norwegen vorgefallen war.
